»When I create my vessels I aim to link the natural world with the industrial world:
a hand-worked machined feel. I take inspiration from the raw elements of the earth.
I also look to the planets, their moons and their permanent winters. Within these environments I imagine the presence of machines. The glazes I use help to convey these ideas. Layers of engobes and crystalline glazes create complexity and depth upon the surface of the vessel – giving impressions of either molten heat or cold crystalline frost. Precious metals add to the industrial aesthetic, resulting in contrasts of beauty and refinement with the mechanized world.«
